Issued Laws and related history

The region where the modern-day Eritrea is situated is known for its ancient civilization with rich history of respecting human dignity emphasizing on collective rights and, of course, recognizing individual rights within the social context. Starting from the 14th century, the Eritrean people has been actively engaged in enacting and enforcing numerous laws to protect and promote human dignity, social justice and equity.

Since the independence and formulation of the State of Eritrea, the government through the ministry of justice thus far has issued more than 300 laws and more than 200 legal notices.
