The State of Eritrea

THE OFFICE

The Ministry of Justice has been developing a realistic strategy with the view of harmonizing history, culture, current realities/needs and the law. In line with this, the main purpose of the strategy is to create a comprehensive package of options of paths to justice to which citizens could have an easier access and thereby become capable of making a more informed decision to resolve their justiciable problems in a more efficient way.

SERVICES

The Ministry of Justice offers a range of services to the public and to other government institutions in support to its mission and mandates. These services are Legal Services, Services to provide Access to Justice as well as Research and Documentation Services. The respective departments of the Ministry provide those services.

LAWS

The region where the modern-day Eritrea is situated is known for its ancient civilization with rich history of respecting human dignity emphasizing on collective rights and, of course, recognizing individual rights within the social context. Starting from the 14^th century, the Eritrean people has been actively engaged in enacting and enforcing numerous laws to protect and promote human dignity, social justice and equity.

PUBLICATIONS

We provide access to various publications related to the Ministry of Justice of the state of Eritrea. You can find and download forms for different legal procedures and services, read different legal topics that have been published in the Eritrean Newspaper ‘Hadas Eritrea’ in three Eritrean languages, and explore research publications on various topics of law and justice.
